Exhibition design, modular display and guidance system
Studio Manuel Raeder looked critically into the temporary exhibition architecture instead of producing extensive one-way solutions, the concept for abc was based upon using already existing and recyclable structures. Combined with specially developed display systems, those structures provided an environmental sustainable setting.
A range of basic architectural elements that galleries could deploy to construct their presentation: scaffolding, L-shaped wood walls and construction hoardings. It was possible for each gallery to rent several elements and combine them. This extensive range of possible choices enabled galleries to create an individualised exhibition setting that could be altered to work equally well for paintings, sculptures, performative works or installations.
Nothing for abc was hidden or disguised. Therefore cables, wires, projectors, were visible, this allowed visitors to create their own point of view and perspectives, through the front ground and background of abc.
