The layout of this book is based on using the titles of Asta Gröting's works as headlines for the images. But always scaling images
and the titles proportional, giving an equal weight to the image and the text. The 'Inner Voice' font is based on classic theater poster
fonts but with the task in mind, that it has been swallowed by one of the puppets and got stuck inside their throat.
With 'The Inner Voice', Asta Gröting is presenting a complex of works, that question our imagination of a clearly defined nature
of the human personality and psyche. In this long-term project Gröting develops scenarios and dialogues of ventriloquists and a
self-made doll. The publication contains photographs of performances, video sequences, numerous reports from ventriloquists
conventions in Las Vegas and the ventriloquists' dialogues by Tim Etchells and Asta Gröting, as well as accompanying essays
by Deborah Levy and Stella Rollig. MARTa, Herford.
