k.m Kunstverein München e.V.
Art direction and all graphic design for the Kunstverein Munich since Bart van der Heide has been the director in 2010.
When being approached to redesign all the communication tools and the visual identity of the k.m, Studio Manuel Raeder decided to keep the original logo that was designed by Scott King whilst Stefan Kalmar was the director of the Kunstverein. Focusing on the arches that sit in the negative shape of the k.m we started to draw a parallel to the architecture and the location of the k.m.
This allowed us to focus on more essential questions of how to communicate all the exhibitions and establish a slowly growing identity for communicating with the k.m's audience.
Each exhibition has its own visual identity which altogether helps expand, develop and visualise the ideas of k.m as an institution. This visual identity consists of different printed matter as communication tool, such as a unique logo, a postcard that bare an image chosen by the artists, and a 4 page leaflet that allow the artists to create a context for his / her artwork that are also used as the invitations. Inside each exhibition is a small stapled publication is available to take away, that creates a context for the exhibits dialogue and discourse.
The collected booklets are available at BOM DIA BOA TARDE BOA NOITE
